Glade under the sea

Description

Despite its pastoral title, this work presents the glade as a zone of volatility rather than repose. A blazing red upper field presses against a dark horizon, while below it the surface opens into mineral, vegetal, and cellular textures. The landscape is therefore not descriptive but elemental: it is built from pressure, seepage, fracture, and bloom. The title becomes ironic and poetic at once, inviting us to imagine a clearing not as an idyllic refuge, but as a site where the earth’s energies gather visibly.

History

Imagined the glade as a place that remembers both shelter and fire. It is the kind of clearing where the ground seems alive under your feet, and where the sky above it feels too intense to be innocent.
